Spider Mite Control
Spider mites are common pests on many vegetable and ornamental crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries, roses, gerbera and many other crops.
• Red or Two-spotted spider mites feed by puncturing cells and draining the contents which produce a characteristic yellow speckling of the leaf surface
• Spider mites produce silk webbing which is clearly visible at high infestation levels. Also at high infestation levels reddish-brown masses of mites can be seen hanging from the tips of leaves
BIOLOGICAL CONTROL | 51
Phytoline
Phytoseiulus persimilis
Phytoline biological control agent contains the predatory mite, Phytoseiulus persimilis. This well-known predator will eat large numbers of two-spotted mite, Tetranychus urticae. It is a standard treatment in many crops, particularly tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and ornamentals. The standard treatment.
Anderline
Amblyseius andersoni
Anderline biological control agent contains the predatory mite, Amblyseius andersoni. It is a predatory mite that feeds on many types of small arthropod prey and pollen. It is ideal for preventive protection of greenhouse or outdoor ornamentals, vegetables and fruit crops.
KEY FEATURES
• Recommended for spider mite control on a wide range of crops
• Adults and young stages feed voraciously on adults and eggs of the two-spotted spider-mite
• Controls spider mites resistant to acaricides
• Transparent containers allow growers to observe mites for quality control
Target Pests
Two-spotted spider mite
Target Crops
Vegetables / Ornamentals / Berries / Fruit Trees / Citrus
Target Life Stages
Larvae
Delivery Systems
Sachets, Tubes & Bags
KEY FEATURES
• Will also feed on pollen and thrips larvae allowing the population to survive when pest mite populations decrease
• Active at a broader temperature range (6-40°C / 43-104°F) than Phytoseiulus persimilis and Amblyseius californicus.
• Effective at lower temperatures, it can be introduced much earlier in the growing season than other predatory mites
Target Pests
Broad mite / Cyclamen mite / Two-spotted spider mite / Carmine mite / Tomato russet/rust mite / European red mite

Californiline
Amblyseius californicus
Californiline biological control agent contains the predatory mite, Amblyseius californicus. It is a generalist predator targeting various spider mite species including two-spotted mites.
Macroline
Macrolophus pygmaeus
Macroline biological control agent contains the predatory bug, Macrolophus pygmaeus. This generalist predatory bug is primarily released for white y control, but will feed on other pests such as moth eggs and caterpillars.
KEY FEATURES
• Generalist predator which can also feed on pollen and other arthropods
• Persists longer in the crop than many other spider mite predators
• Active in high temperature and low humidity conditions
Target Pests
Two-spotted spider mite / Carmine mite
Target Crops
Vegetables / Ornamentals / Berries / Fruit Trees / Citrus
Target Life Stages
All life stages
Delivery Systems
Sachets, Tubes & Bags
KEY FEATURES
• Feeding with Ephestia eggs (Bug Food E) will enhance the establishment of due to increased fecundity
• Highly recommended for use in Tomatoes and Aubergines
• Considered a generalist predator also feeding on moth eggs and other pests
• Takes 8 to 12 weeks to establish population
