BIOLOGICAL CONTROL
Thrips Control
Frankliniella occidentalis (Western Flower Thrips or Californian Thrips) are small insects that are attracted by ower odours. Once in owers they feed on pollen and developing petals causing blemishes that reduce the value of cut owers.
• Eggs are laid in leaf tissue or developing fruit and can cause small, hard ‘warts’. They also feed on developing fruits and cause damage seen as roughening and hardening of the surface
Amblyline
Amblyseius cucumeris
Amblyline biological control agent contains the predatory mite Amblyseius cucumeris. It is a predator of western ower thrips, ChiIi Thrips and several other thrips species.
Oriline
Orius laevigatus
Contains the predatory bug Orius which provides effective and reliable thrip control in a range of protected crops. Orius serves as a standard preventive treatment for thrips, particularly western ower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis.
Swirskiline
Amblyseius swirskii
Swirskiline biological control agent contains the predatory mite, Amblyseius swirskii. It is primarily used to control white ies and thrips but it will provide some reduction in other small pest species.
Thripline
Frankliniella occidentalls
Thripline is a proprietary product containing the aggregation pheromone of western ower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis. The product is designed to improve the sensitivity of monitoring traps for thrips, particularly at low levels of infestation or in easily damaged crops.
