COMPOST ADDITIVES
Perlite
Perlite is a white, ultra-lightweight aggregate created from naturally occurring, non-toxic volcanic rock. Grades can range from a very ne powder to an aggregate with a particle size up to 6mm in size.
Perlite is an inorganic, inert, neutral in pH, biologically stable and has no asbestos content. It has excellent thermal insulation properties over an extremely wide temperature range. It also has a highly adsorbent surface with a very low bulk density, which makes it an ideal carrier or low cost ller for many compound formulations.
Vermiculite
Vermiculite is a naturally occurring, non-toxic, soft mica mineral that is heated to high temperature to produce a lightweight, sterile structure.
• Absorbs nutrients preventing them from being washed out then releases them gradually to the plants roots
• Good water holding capacity
• Physically assists in aeration and drainage
• Insulates against uctuations in surface temperature when used as a seed covering
Silvaperl Hydroleca
Hydroleca is a lightweight, expanded clay aggregate with a smooth, dense outer skin and honeycomb interior structure. Absorbs up to 40% of its own weight in water and slowly releases it to the plant.

SwellGel
SwellGel is a free- owing granular material, that can be mixed with your chosen growing media.
SwellGel granules are activated and expand into thousands of self-contained ‘reservoirs’ when irrigated, each absorbing hundreds of times their own weight of water. The developing plant roots quickly grow right into, and through, these SwellGel ‘reservoirs’, thus gaining access to almost 100% of the stored water. The stored moisture is only released to the plant as and when it is needed, reducing the risk of over watering! Drying out and water loss are greatly reduced, and watering frequencies are cut up to 75%.
